The teacher at Uganda Martyrs Secondary School, Kayunga, who was suspended over a viral nude video scandal, has apologised for her actions and appealed for a second chance from the school administration.
Josephine Namubiru, who serves as both a teacher and secretary at the Catholic-founded institution, reportedly appeared before the school board and expressed remorse over the incident that sparked widespread debate on social media and within the school community.
Sources familiar with the proceedings said Namubiru admitted wrongdoing and pleaded with board members to forgive her, arguing that the incident had caused her immense emotional distress and damaged her reputation.
“I am sorry for what happened and I ask for forgiveness. I request to be given another opportunity to continue serving the school,” she reportedly told the board.
The school board had earlier suspended Namubiru pending further investigations into the circulation of explicit videos allegedly involving her.
The board has also recommended disciplinary action against a male teacher accused of participating in the dissemination of the videos.
School authorities have not yet announced whether Namubiru’s appeal for reinstatement will be considered. Investigations by the school and district education officials are still ongoing.
The controversy erupted two weeks ago after explicit videos allegedly linked to Namubiru circulated widely on social media, prompting concern among parents, students and education authorities over the school’s image and the growing challenge of digital privacy violations.
