Breaking: Pope Francis Dies at 87 Vatican Confirms

Pope Francis

The Vatican has announced the passing of Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of more than a billion Catholics worldwide. In an emotional statement delivered just moments ago,

His Eminence Cardinal Kevin Farrell confirmed the pontiff’s death, saying: “Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.”

The Vatican says Pope Francis died peacefully at 7:35 am local time, marking the end of a historic papacy that touched millions across the globe.

“The Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father,” Cardinal Farrell said. “His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church.”

Remembered for his humility, compassion, and steadfast advocacy for the poor and marginalized, Pope Francis brought a renewed sense of purpose to the Catholic Church.

“He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love,” Farrell continued, “especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalised.”

“With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.”

Further details about funeral arrangements and the succession process are expected from the Vatican in the coming hours.
