Seeta Junior School, Mbalala Campus, shines as a beacon of excellence amidst the vibrant educational scene in the Mukono district.
This renowned school has garnered national recognition for its outstanding academic achievements, catapulting it to the forefront of institutions in its category. It is rapidly establishing itself as a dominant force in education, surpassing other schools in its league.
According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) records, every single one of the 157 pupils who sat for their Primary Living Examinations in 2022 at Seeta Junior School achieved remarkable first-grade results, with an astounding eighteen students securing perfect scores of four aggregates.
As news of their outstanding accomplishment spread like wildfire, the school soared to the top of the list, claiming the coveted position of the best-performing institution in the entire nation.
Behind this unprecedented achievement lies the visionary leadership of Sister Crispin Christine Namara, a 35-year-old nun from the Good Samaritan Sisters.
For over two years, Sr. Namara has served as the head teacher of Seeta Junior School, spearheading a transformational journey that has propelled the institution to remarkable heights.
With an unwavering commitment to excellence, she has implemented innovative strategies and created a conducive learning environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth.
Her relentless dedication has not only elevated the school’s performance but has also left an indelible impact on the lives of the pupils under her care.
At the core of Sr. Namara’s leadership philosophy is the belief in building strong relationships. Embracing an open-door policy, she fosters an atmosphere of trust and understanding, where teachers feel comfortable approaching her with concerns and ideas.
This approach allows her to gain invaluable insights into the lives and traits of her team, enabling her to better support both the teachers and the pupils.
Regular meetings are held to collaboratively discuss strategies for improvement, focusing not only on academic performance but also on holistic development.
Rather than resorting to traditional disciplinary measures, Sr. Namara encourages alternative methods of handling students, promoting dialogue and understanding over harsh punishment.
This empathetic and inclusive approach has cultivated a harmonious and supportive community within the school, enhancing the overall learning experience.
The school also values the involvement of parents, who provide feedback on their children’s behavior, allowing for effective collaboration between the school and families. Additionally, the school promotes the habit of saving among teachers and pupils to instill financial responsibility.
The school’s commitment to holistic development is evident through its focus on practical teaching, study tours, and engagement in various extracurricular activities.
From teaching simple survival skills to organizing counselling sessions and celebrating birthdays, Seeta Junior School aims to groom well-rounded individuals.
Moreover, spiritual well-being is nurtured by providing platforms for religious activities and ensuring the security and well-being of the pupils through close monitoring.
Sr. Namara encourages other school head teachers to visit Seeta Junior School and learn from their successful practices. She believes in the power of collaboration and sharing knowledge to improve overall educational outcomes.
With her compassionate leadership and dedication to the school’s mission, Sr. Namara has become a prominent figure within the educational landscape, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her students and teachers alike.

To better understand Sr. Namara’s journey, it is essential to delve into her background. Born on September 18, 1987, in the Bushenyi district, she grew up and pursued her education in up-country districts.
After completing her studies at Butale Primary School and Ntale Secondary School, she joined the Convent of Good Samaritan Sisters in Nalukolongo.
In 2017, she was ordained as a sister and later decided to further her education by enrolling in a Diploma in Education program at Uganda Martyrs University-Nkozi, where she is currently pursuing a degree.
Her extensive experience at Seeta Junior School, starting as a teacher in 2008 and eventually rising to the head teacher, has shaped her into the exceptional leader she is today.
Sr. Namara works alongside two deputy head teachers, forming a strong leadership team dedicated to the school’s success.
During her free time, Sr. Namara prioritizes visiting her parents. She believes that as a religious figure in her family, she has a unique opportunity to establish a deeper connection and understanding with her parents.
Additionally, she finds joy in witnessing people’s happiness and actively engages in helping others, aiming to transform at least one person’s life each year.
Her favourite dish, kalo (millet bread), accompanied by fish or chicken, reflects her appreciation for local cuisine.
At The Covent
For institutions seeking to employ a nun like Sr. Namara, the process involves writing a formal request to the mother convent, outlining the reasons for their presence, roles, and responsibilities within the institution.
Respect for their religious calling and the ability to accommodate them in a manner that upholds their vocation are crucial factors.
Once the mother convent approves the request, a memorandum of understanding is established, designating the nun as the representative of the convent in all matters related to their work.
The school’s proprietor- John Chrysostom Muyingo, who is also the State Minister for Higher Education in the Cabinet of Uganda, established a convent within the school premises to accommodate a significant number of sisters.
This commitment to supporting religious leaders in education reflects Muyingo’s dedication to nurturing responsible and high-quality citizens for the future.
Sr. Namara speaks highly of Muyingo, describing him as a humble servant leader who actively engages with the concerns raised by the school community, even amidst his public responsibilities.
The school is a beacon of academic excellence and holistic development under Sr. Namara’s guidance. Her leadership, characterized by compassion, collaboration, and a focus on the well-being of students, has transformed the school into a thriving educational institution.
By opening their gates to other school head teachers, Sr. Namara and her team exemplify their commitment to sharing knowledge and driving positive change within the education sector.
“I appreciate the manner in which my boss addresses the concerns we present to him when he is available, away from his public responsibilities. He devotes a significant portion of his schedule to the school and frequently provides us with valuable guidance,”
