“Programs such as parish development model-PDM, ‘emyooga’, youth livelihood funds-YLP among others are tainted with bad image yet once such funds are accessed and properly utilized, can strongly impact lives.” He noted.

Poverty can negatively impact children’s health, emotional, social, cognitive development, behaviour and education outcomes.

According to Kibuule, once the clergy spearhead popularization of such good government programs, their work in fighting divorce and other gender-based violence cases will reduce since poverty is almost their root cause.

Rev. Can. Kagodo was astonished with the big number of believers who turned up to worship saying it is important and glorifies God’s kingdom.

He commended Christians at Bulijjo for constructing a big church and prayed for them to fully complete it. “People dress up smartly from home only to go back dirty after reaching the church. May God enable us to plaster its walls and the floor.”

So far, eight million shillings was raised towards the construction process. Kibuule contributed 40 tonnes of stone dust worth Shillings 5million.

Justine Lusagwa, the church lay reader, appreciated all the people who contributed towards the construction. She notes that several people over time have pledged and fulfilled and others are yet to fulfil.
