A team of National Resistance Movement-NRM members has contributed five hundred thousand shillings towards the medical bills of the former Mukono District Councillor, Samuel Okoth.
Okoth, who represented Mpunge Sub County at the district council from 2011 to 2016 is suffering from a stroke and has been undergoing treatment for twelve months.
The team headed by Richard Kateregga Mivule, also the Mukono South Member of Parliament hopeful, says they managed to offer the little they have as a gesture of unity within the party.
Kateregga says Okoth contributed much towards promotion of the party within Mukono South constituency besides effortlessly canvassing votes for President Yoweri Museveni during various election campaigns.
“It is our mandate as party leaders to support the party members who have contributed towards its success, reach out to them for encouragement and ensure transformation of their lives for the better.” Keteregga notes.
Much as Okoth shows signs of improvement, he still finds it hard to speak and also understand what others say. His mother, Betty Nyasuna is grateful to the NRM cadres for the support offered to his son.
