Margret Nakavubu: Replacing Minister Kibuule in Determining the Will of Mukono District

Among everything that money cannot buy includes the will of people with an identical ideology towards achieving a common goal.

It is the same resolution the National Resistance Movement-NRM supporters in Mukono district portrayed towards ending the power of the State Minister for Water Resources Ronald Kibuule in shaping their willpower whenever it comes to electing leaders.

NRM District Chairperson Arrested Over Alleged Mismanagement Of LC1 Election Funds

July 22, 2026

Kibuule has been a god father to many successful candidates in Mukono district starting from the parliamentary positions to the rest of the lower local government positions.

The litany for their victory has been visiting kibuule’s home, locally known as ‘Ekikomela’ to pledge their allegiance to respecting and promoting his ideologies, this has been regularly described by many as receiving blessings from the minister before pondering for any political position.

In some religious setting, a person is considered a full believer after accepting to be baptized by emersion. The chance that Margret Nakavubu, the new Mukono district NRM flag bearer elect missed in 2016 from the minister.

She instead resorted to a drop of water in the face a sign that represents emersion, such system is cheap and affordable. The many people who belong to her faith lifted her to the top without any condition and ended up defeating Mary Margret Nalugo Sssekiziyivu who was fronted by the minister in the concluded elections.

It was beyond a front of the former MP but pulled by the minister himself to every part of the district ordering the followers to vote for her. Sacks of money were circulated on top of threatening many government workers to lose their jobs for sidelining with the minister’s rival.

All contenders canvassing for votes at the local government level who started as giants changed part of their songs to praising Nalugo during their rallies. But to everyone’s surprise the margin of victory was over 8000.

Under the party system candidates are expected to unit in order to win the general elections. Nakavubu vowed to ensure that kibuule loses his parliamentary seat in the forthcoming elections.

Kibuule mindfully bribed Yahaya Were the Deputy RDC of Tororo out of Mukono North county party race to emerge unopposed.

This gave him time to fight Nakavubu in many of his constituents were at a certain point branded her as a wolf ‘ekibe’ and the loyal Nalugo a dog ’embwa’

But due to the will which is among everything that money cannot buy portrayed during the recent NRM primaries, the Insight Post can confirm a number of Kibuule staunch believers on the verge of abandoning him to secure their political positions.
