Kabojja Junior School Teacher Remanded Over Homosexuality-Related Charges

May 10, 2025

A community in Mutundwe Wabiyinja zone, Bunamwaya division is in the cold after a fellow resident committed heinous crimes of aggravated defilement and sodomy.

It is said that a 30-year-old Deo Mutabaazi committed the crimes on two innocent male juveniles aged 11 and 12. Additionally, Mutabaazi faces charges of indecent assault involving two other male juveniles.

The incident came to light after concerned neighbours raised alarm bells about Mutabazi’s suspicious activities. The sinister trail of events unfolded when, a week ago, the suspect lured two young victims into his room.

With a heartless disregard for their innocence, the suspect applied oil to their anuses and committed the disgusting act of sodomy. It was the vigilant eyes and swift actions of these neighbours that led to the unravelling of the horrifying truth.

The parents of the victims were alerted to the distressing situation and immediately involved the local authorities. The gravity of the situation became even more evident upon the suspect’s arrest as two other victims aged 10 and 13 reported the same evil.

According to Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Spokesperson, the suspect was promptly taken into custody and now faces charges of Aggravated Defilement and indecent assault.

This shocking incident casts a stark light on the vulnerability of young boys and teenagers to sexual abuse within our communities.

The exposure of such depraved acts against minors brings to the forefront the pressing need for collective action to safeguard their well-being.

However, the authorities stand resolute in their commitment to ensuring justice is served. Mutabazi’s apprehension is a testament to the determination to hold all perpetrators accountable for their abhorrent actions.

Child sexual trafficking, sodomy, and other forms of physical abuse targeting young boys and male teenagers will not be tolerated, and those who perpetrate these crimes will be pursued relentlessly through the corridors of justice.

Amid this darkness, Enanga says, hope emerges in the form of vigilant neighbours who refused to turn a blind eye. Their swift response and willingness to protect the vulnerable should serve as an inspiration to all.

The collective effort to ensure the safety of our children is a responsibility that rests on every member of the community.

As the legal process unfolds, he adds, let this disturbing incident serve as a rallying cry for awareness, vigilance, and action against those who seek to harm the most defenceless children.

Through unity and vigilance, it can create a safer world for children, free from the horrors of exploitation and abuse.
