Local Defense Unit Officers under the commandership of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces ended Saturday evening in a running battle with Kame valley market vendors in Mukono district who have declined to wear face masks.
The operation that has put activities within the market on a standstill for about two hours has not spared buyers who have also been beaten and stopped from entering the market. Dealers operating clothes stalls have also been forced to close.
Although, the market management leadership has remained wondering where the orders for storming the market came from, the Residential District commissioner Fred Bamwiine claimed knowledge about the matter saying vendors had become reluctant towards respecting the set rule of fighting the spread of Covid-19 disease.
