The National Unity Platform-NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has instructed Betty Nambooze to summon Rev. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa over plans to meet President Yoweri Museveni.
Nambooze, the Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament obeyed the instructions summoning all the newly elected NUP district councillors and the LC5 boss Rev. Bakaluba.
The meet has been ignited by series of interactions between Rev. Bakaluba and most of the National Resistance Movement party losers in the recent elections.
Rev. Bakaluba has so far re-united with Hajji Haruna Ssemakula, the NRM LC5 chairperson who shockingly lost the position in the general elections.
The recent encounter involved the State Minister for Water Ronald Kibuule he [Bakaluba] asked to arrange for him a one on one meeting with Museveni. Bakaluba also promised to attend the presidential swearing in ceremony.
“My intentions are now working for the people of Mukono not playing party politics and I am ready to work with anyone who can contribute a developmental idea and support to district.” Bakaluba noted.
However, Bakaluba’s statement forced top leaders at NUP Secretariat to instruct Nambooze call for an urgent meeting to sort out such matters.
“I have received instructions from the NUP party president to convene a very argent meeting to sort out some matters. As you are aware MPs are ex-officials of this assembly so we expect everyone to attend without fail.”
Both Nambooze and Rev. Bakaluba are senior politicians that crossed to NUP ahead of the general elections.
Nambooze crossed from the Democratic Party and Rev. Bakaluba from NRM to DP and then NUP.
